The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors – RICS – is one of the most respected and high profile global ‘standards and membership’ organizations for professionals involved in land, valuation, real estate, construction and environmental issues.

EQA – ISO 9000 Certification Organization for building control quality certification. EQA is independent and a highly competent certificating body accredited by UKAS recognised by the British Government and by most industrialized nations throughout the world.

DCLG – Building Regulations Division deals with Building Regulations, which ensure the health and safety of people in and around buildings by providing functional requirements for building design and construction. The regulations also promote energy efficiency in buildings and contribute to meeting the needs of disabled people.

ACAI – The ACAI acts in an advisory capacity, committed to maintaining appropriate codes of conduct and high professional standards commensurate with the functions of corporate and individual approved inspectors, as detailed in the Building Act 1984 and the Building Control Performance Standards (available from the ODPM website).

CIC – The Construction Industry Council occupies a unique role within the UK construction industry. Its members represent over 500,000 professionals working for, and in association with, the construction industry and more than 25,000 construction firms. It is the representative forum for the industry's professional bodies, research organisations and specialist trade associations.


ABE – The Association of Building Engineers is the professional body for those specialising in the technology of building.
