A leading Building Control expert has reached a landmark decade helping to ensure the UK is served with the Colonel’s secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices.

Regional Building Control (RBC) - one of the UK’s leading Building Regulations Approved Inspectors – is celebrating 10 years of helping to build and refurbish Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants.

On more than 420 restaurants the Building Control specialist has worked closely with KFC’s approved architects and project managers to ensure speedy and accurate conformity to UK building regulations.

First-class working relationships that pool knowledge, experience and ideas will always conserve time, money and provide working solutions for a client, explains James Tutton area manager for RBC.

He says: “We’re absolutely delighted to have provided KFC and its building partners with 10 years of good service – it’s an incredible milestone!

“Establishing such a long-term relationship is priceless. We get to know our client’s needs and procedures inside-out, which puts us in the best position to tailor our expertise to help ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.”

Paul Sargent, director of @architect ltd and an approved architect for KFC, says: “RBC provide an excellent service in their capacity as approved building inspectors whilst working as a team member in overcoming potential design issues.”

The popularity of the KFC brand has seen the expansion of the UK & Ireland restaurant network to its current level of over 700 locations.

KFC is currently creating up to 9,000 new jobs across the country with a particular focus on the North of England and South Wales. Next year it plans to open another 38 stores in the UK, creating 1,700 jobs. With 800 stores and 22,000 employees already in the UK, this highlights KFC’s continued growth since it came to the UK in 1965.

RBC is approved by the Government to carry out the full functions of Building Control as a Corporate Approved Inspector (CAI), as defined in the Building Act 1984.

It is an independent and proactive company, aiming to collaborate with design and construction teams to ensure the needs of the client and the Building Regulations are met effectively and efficiently.
