RBC worked alongside developer Hale Estates and Ollier Smurthwaite Architects to redevelop this local landmark that had been derelict since a serious fire. The impressive original façade was retained and 12no. and new build townhouses and apartments were constructed, creating an attractive new street and courtyard that sits perfectly within its historic setting.
RBC has been appointed by Galliard Homes to provide full building control services for the refurbishment and new build to the East and West Wings of an existing three storey office block to convert into 18 residential apartments.
This former Newbury water works pumping station dating from the early 1900’s has been brought back to life and converted to provide a comfortable and contemporary three storey family home. The industrial character of the building has been retained and blends seamlessly with the modern and stylish requirements of a 21st century home. RBC have worked closely with the designers and clients achieving an innovative and flexible approach to Building Regulations compliance meeting the clients brief for a flexible and open plan layout. This unique project is to be featured as part of the forthcoming Channel 4 series of George Clark’s ‘Restoration Man’
